Low head water turbine (tubular turbine) consists of water chamber, runner, distributor and draft tube, is widely used in the sites with water head of 4-11 meters and large water flow, with a capacity from 0.8 to 3kw.
The tubular turbine requires less space than other turbines, a saving in costs is realized due to a smaller powerhouse and shallow requirements for the draft tube. The tubular turbine is equipped with adjustable wicket gates and adjustable runner blades. This arrangement provides the greatest possible flexibility in adapting to changing net head and changing demands for power output; because the gates and blades can he adjusted to their optimum openings.
