Biomass pellets, typically wood pellets, are made in a pellet mill which is also referred to as a pellet press or pellet machine.
To produce quality wood pellets and biomass pellets, the raw materials need to have consistent qualities; the key qualities are moisture content, density, particle size and binding qualities.
Small pellet mill with a capacity 100-500 kg/hr is also called flat die pellet mill with a horizontal die and rollers being above the die, the pellets are compressed between the rollers and die.
Small pellet mill is a good choice for the small farm and family to make pellet fuels from various local renewable resources like sawdust, wood shavings, straws, grasses and other biomass residues, reduces raw material and pellet fuel transportation costs, and therefore reduce carbon emissions.
