There are two main types of Induction (Discharge) Lamps, External Inductor Lamps and Internal Inductor lamps.
Internal inductor lamps, often called high frequency induction lamps, are ball shaped like conventional incandescent light bulb, featured a glass tube which is called power coupler inserted into the light bulb operating on the frequency of 2.65MHz
The external inductor lamps, often called low frequency induction lamps, which have a wider range of applications and are available in round, rectangular and olive shape, featured a coil around a ferrite inductor on the outside of the glass tube, operating on the frequency between 200-250 KHz.
