|
Plug-in (PL) CFLs are similar to traditional CFLs except that they have a different base. They generally come in 2 pin or 4 pin, which refers to the number of pins used to connect to the fitting and whether the bulb needs external ballast.
They plug into their fittings directly, the fittings have either 2 or 4 metal pin contacts and a plastic clip/plug which secures it in place.
Plug-in CFLs are available in a wide range of wattages, colour temperatures, sizes and shapes for most application, with the same characteristics of traditional CFLs: high output, energy efficient, long lifetime of 8000-15000 hrs etc. |
