Every year millions of tons of wastewater are produced by detergents in washing dishes and clothes. Much of the synthetic chemicals and pollutants inevitably go into rivers, lakes and coastal areas, these pollutants, phosphates can cause large build-ups of algae and bacteria that rob water bodies of oxygen, irritate the skin and eyes and cause other health risks.
